What kinds of items do you/do you not accept as donations?
Answer
Throughout the year other than a short span of time immediately before the annual Friends of the Library book sale, the library accepts donations. These donations will either be added to one of our branches or will go into storage to be put on the ongoing Friends of the Library sale shelf as it empties or will be saved until the next sale. Please be considerate when selecting materials to be donated. We cannot use items that have moldy, dusty, falling apart, etc.
Desired donations include:
- Books in good condition (paperback or hard covered books)
- Good quality children's books
- DVDs
- Audio books on CD
- LP and 45 records
- Non-fiction books less than 10 years old
Things not needed include:
- Pamphlets, magazines, and newspapers
- VHS tapes
- Cassette tapes
- Anything dirty moldy, or falling apart
- Encyclopedias and reference books
